Website Macsimiser - our new CMS
Hello! First of all, welcome to our new website design blog!
Now this one is something special to us here at Macsi. It is the first to utilise our new Content Management System; Macsimiser. Our previous custom made CMSs have powered many of our clients' websites, however this one is a combination of all of those CMS ideas rolled into one product.
Macsimiser is built onto our solid MVC framework, created in 2011 and used for building client applications. It currently powers holiday let management systems, education systems, driving school booking diaries and estate agent websites.
Now you may be thinking why build a CMS with so many options like Wordpress, Joomla and Drupla available?. Let's throw Concrete 5 into the mix too :) Well, as good as those systems are, none of them integrate with our system perfectly without having to implement some hacks.
As our CMS and Apps are built using the same framework, we can do whatever we want with them - without too many problems. We built the code so we know it inside out. This means adding new features is far easier and simpler for us than doing the same in a pre made system.
Furthermore, we are building more functionality into our system and can expand wherever we think best. There are lots of additional functions that we felt were missing in the majority of other Content Management Systems without plug-ins and we have built these into the core system.
Finally we have made it fast, very fast and out of the box it is SEO friendly.
We have a list of features that we are currently adding to the system and we will run various blog posts on the additional features as and when they are released! Do keep coming back to see the progress of our system and company.

Hi James,
Thanks for your comment and interest in the system.
At present the system is in Beta and is very much a work in progress.
There are many features that we have yet to add to the system, which will bring it closer to being a fully developed system, however we don't expect all the features to be implemented and therefore the system wont be completed in full for at least a couple of years.
The selling or renting of the system is something that we will look at when the system is fully developed, if we are to release it as a product then we want it to be something that will amaze people.
Again thanks for you Interest
Colin

Hi,
Macsimiser sounds pretty awesome. When fully developed would you consider selling it or "renting" it to external web companies?
Thanks
James
